Petersburg and Wrangell have daily scheduled jet service via Alaska Airlines from Seattle, Juneau and Anchorage. Check out their interactive flight schedule. Once you have arrived in either Petersburg or Wrangell, you can connect to the Alaska Marine Highway System’s ferry service, which can transport you to most communities in Alaska’s Rainforest Islands.

If you are interested in traveling to Alaska’s Rainforest Islands via the Alaska Marine Highway System, this state-owned ferry system offers northbound sailings for automobile, RV and passenger transportation to Wrangell and Petersburg from either Bellingham, in Washington state or Prince Rupert in British Columbia, Canada. Advance reservations are recommended, especially if you plan to bring a vehicle.

The Interisland Ferry Authority, a small local ferry service, provides access to southeastern Prince of Wales Island from Ketchikan, Alaska. Once you arrive in the port town of Hollis, the extensive road system on Prince of Wales Island will take you where you want to go.

A local water taxi service connects the community of Coffman Cove on the northern end of Prince of Wales Island to Wrangell and Petersburg.
